Howie Kleinberg made his way to reality TV back in 2007 as a contestant on the third season of top chefand leave a lasting impression. Unfortunately, the chef passed away. He was 46 years old at the time of his death.
Kleinberg passed away over the weekend, according to his mother in a statement to Miami Herald. He was succeeded by his stepfather, sister, two nieces and nephews, as well as his mother. His father died after a heart attack at the age of 34, when Kleinberg was 6 years old.
Susan Kleinberg confirmed her son’s death to Miami Outlets on July 25, and shared that the number of condolences she received revealed to her the extent of the impact he had on those around him. She said:

He came in seventh place out of the original group of 15 chefs vying for first prize. Although he didn’t win, it was a memorable part of season three, particularly due to his exchange with the late Anthony Bourdain, in which he countered some of Bourdain’s criticism of him by citing Bourdain’s own book.
He was an unknown chef when recommended by the director of the South Beach Food Festival top chefand, in the end, it was cast. After his time on the Bravo Show, he owned Bulldog BBQ in North Miami, which he named after his nickname as a chef. He initially found his inspiration to become a chef after being hired in the kitchen at the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami and wasn’t a fan of the job at first, but he grew up to love cooking, and it took a long time.
